Many Audi partners stock samples of the available paint finishes and leather as well as Dinamica microfibre and inlays, so that you can, for example, match your exterior colour directly with the interior colours and materials. As not every customisation element is available for every vehicle and not all customisation options can be depicted in the Audi configurator, we recommend a personal consultation to discuss every wish in detail. <p>The options for designing your personal dream car with Audi exclusive are extensive and depend on the model in question. A personal consultation is recommended. The following customisation options are generally available for your vehicle:</p><p><b>Paint finishes:</b><br>An extensive range of customised paint finishes are available for customising your vehicle. You can choose from all Audi standard paint finishes and certain customised paint finishes across all model series. Other paint finishes are available on request (offer may vary depending on model). Modern painting facilities are used to meet the very high standards of AUDI AG and Audi Sport GmbH and to ensure extremely high paint quality in the long term. The desired shade is mixed from organic and inorganic colour pigments. Organic pigments ensure the radiance of the colours, while inorganic pigments are very resistant to ageing. Together, they guarantee a long-lasting colour intensity of the paint. The high requirement for an Audi exclusive customised paint finish is a uniform appearance on all materials – and that for years to come. This is why every colour is extensively tested before approval.</p><p><b>Metallic paint finishes:</b><br>Adding metal flakes to the paint creates the fascinating effect of metallic paint finishes. The flakes are usually made of aluminium or brass. To produce a metallic paint finish, work must be carried out extremely carefully so that the metal flakes do not break.<b><br></b></p><p><b>Pearl effect paint finishes:</b><br>These are characterised by the fact that different colour tones appear depending on which angle the car is seen from. This effect is achieved by using pearlescent pigments. Pearlescent pigments are added to the paints to create a particularly strong difference in brightness that depends on angle. Pearl effect paint finishes have a special depth and captivate with their lively play of colours.<b><br></b></p><p><b>Crystal effect paint finishes:</b><br>Special effect pigments give paint finishes with crystal effect a very deep, brilliant shade of colour and provide a powerful glitter effect in sunlight.</p><p><b>Matt effect paint finishes:</b><br>Matt paint finishes are also available for selected models. You can find out whether these are available for your preferred vehicle on the corresponding model page in the configurator under Exterior/Exterior paint finishes or from your Audi partner.</p><p><b>Leather upholstery and trim:</b><br>Create your own personal feel-good space with the high-quality leather upholstery and trim from Audi exclusive. Whether as seat upholstery, in the door trim panel or on the steering wheel, for example – you have a wide range of design options.<br></p><p>Leather is a unique natural product. No two pieces are the same, which is exactly in keeping with the Audi exclusive philosophy. During processing, great importance is attached to ensuring that the parts used for the interior match each other perfectly. A high-quality selection of the hides used and careful processing help to preserve the leather’s natural characteristics and, at the same time, create a material that is hard-wearing and durable. All types of leather used are chrome-free tanned, breathable and through-dyed. This means that small scratches remain almost invisible during use.<br></p><p>Depending on the use of the leather, wafer-thin layers of paint are applied, which, the thicker they are, result in a less sensitive leather. The same applies the other way around: the thinner the layer of paint applied, the better the seat climate.</p><p><b>Audi exclusive colour range:</b><br>Depending on vehicle model, the customisation range includes various design packages, leather packages or stitching packages, which you can discover in the configurator. It consists of the main Audi exclusive colours for leather, Dinamica microfibre and stitching, as well as three additional accent colours. These can be used for the stitching, but also for the piping and edging of the floor mats, for example. Free customisation beyond the options offered in the configurator can be carried out at your Audi partner or in an Audi exclusive studio.</p><p><b>Inlays:</b><br>The instrument panel, door trim and centre console can be refined with individual inlays. Audi exclusive uses only selected genuine woods that emphasise the individual character of the vehicle. This transforms the interior into a unique relaxation zone with a feel-good atmosphere. Audi does not use any tropical wood.</p><p>Depending on model, further special customisation options are possible. You can request these from your Audi partner, who will then check your individual requirements.</p><p><br></p>

<p><b>Leather:</b><br>The leather used for Audi seats predominantly comes from the hides of male cattle from southern Europe. These have a special surface and thickness ratio and are therefore particularly suitable. The leather from the back of the animals has a uniform fibre structure and rarely has any cracks or blemishes. To be processed as leather for Audi exclusive, the following quality criteria must be met:<b><br></b></p><p><b>Chrome-free tanning process:</b><br>More than two decades ago, Audi – as a pioneer in the automotive industry at the time – dispensed with chromium salts in order to avoid waste contaminated with heavy metals. Audi only uses chrome-free tanned leather and thus consistently pursues its ethical obligation with regard to leather hide production.</p><p><b>Surface protection:</b><br>Various finishes are developed depending on the leather grade. These different finishes ensure a high level of breathability and thus improve the seat climate.</p><p><b>Test cycle:</b><br>The leather inserts in the vehicle are exposed to extreme wear and tear: differences in temperature, direct sunlight, abrasion caused by getting in and out of the car, transporting heavy objects, perspiration, etc. </p><p>Before leather is processed for Audi, it has to pass more than 30 different tests. Abrasion resistance, light fastness, shrinkage behaviour, flexural strength, tensile strength, interior emissions and burning behaviour, among other things, are tested in the laboratory. Only when all tests have been passed is the leather used for seats and interior parts. The tests take more than 12 months.</p><p><b>Word/inlays:</b><br>Audi only uses real wood and never tropical wood. The thin veneer sheets for the inlays are peeled from tree trunks and so-called root burls. To make sure that the individual parts in the vehicle look the same, veneer is generally used from the same trunk or burl. Production is a symbiosis of handcraft and machine production.<br></p><p>A thorough quality check is carried out after production. UV light is used to check whether there are any cracks or inclusions and whether the sealing layer is flawless. Top coats are scratch-resistant during cleaning and have a UV blocker. This ensures long-term colour fastness.</p><p><br></p>
